As an aspiring physician, I hope to one day work as a cardiologist, primary care physician, or podiatrist, but I’m still open to other options if I enjoy them! AMSA has given me the opportunity to learn from professionals, medical students, and hands-on events in order to further gain insight to the field as well as encouraged me to be a more competitive applicant. Beyond professional support, AMSA has given me the chance to meet open and kind like-minded individuals who support each other on their way to meeting their goals and I know it can do the same for you!

In the future, I aspire to pursue a career as a physician specializing in Rheumatology or Pediatric Rheumatology. As a current pre-medical student, AMSA provides me with numerous opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare field and to learn further about the medical field through advice and informative workshops. In addition, AMSA provides me with a comfortable community of like-minded individuals where I can freely share my concerns about the pre-medical journey and discuss my future goals!

I aspire to become a physician specializing in Family Medicine, where I can build long-term relationships with patients and provide comprehensive care across all ages. AMSA supports my goal by giving me access to mentorship, clinical experiences, and educational workshops that deepen my understanding of holistic patient care. Also, AMSA’s welcoming community encourages collaboration and helps me stay motivated throughout my pre-medical journey.

I aim to become a physician specializing in emergency medicine or surgery. AMSA’s connections to medical professions as well as workshops and panels have really given me many opportunities to gain a deeper insight to step towards my career goals. I am able to connect and share experiences with reliable and thoughtful students with similar goals.

I plan work in the medical field for my career. I am not entirely sure what specialty I would like to pursue, but I am thinking about obstetrics. AMSA provides me with guidance and opportunities to help me best prepare myself for my future. AMSA also allows me to meet people with many different end goals and getting to know them can help me gain insight on the different medical careers that are available.

I would like to work in emergency medicine. AMSA has provided me with a community that supports and further ignites my passion for medicine.

I aspire to pursue a career in either dermatology or pediatrics, and being in AMSA has truly helped me feel more confident in going down this career path. Not only does this club give me the opportunity to participate in hands-on workshops and hear about other students’ experiences with the pre-med journey, it also provides a space to build a community of fellow pre-med students that can support each other. Having access to these valuable resources and to this sort of connection is vital to persevering through this somewhat challenging path and I want to help others feel supported as well!

As a CS Premed student, I aspire to become a physician-scientist. One of the most crucial aspects of reaching any goal, in my opinion, is the community. Due to my background as a CS premed student, I feel that it’s particularly important for me to reach out and find a community of similar-minded people outside of class. I hope through AMSA, I am able to persevere and engage with other premedical students in this challenging journey. 

Aspiring to be a physician in the future that adequately communicates with patients, AMSA allows me to venture through different experiences, communicate with a diverse range of individuals, and allow me to become a competitive applicant. I look forward to constantly learning new things, through the club, and simultaneously help mentor others in the same position as me!

As an aspiring physician, I hope to be involved in internal medicine in the future, however I am open to exploring other career options in the medical field! Being a part of AMSA has definitely helped expand my perspective and knowledge of the pre-med journey, particularly through student panels, workshops, and guidance from like-minded peers. Overall, AMSA is a very warm and supportive community that allows me to grow as a person and pursue my interests while helping others do the same.

I aspire to be a physician with a specialization in Anesthesiology or Internal Medicine. With this in sight, AMSA's interactive workshops and enlightening medical student panels have provided me with innumerable opportunities to expand on the knowledge needed to fulfill my career aspirations. Furthermore, I have been able to engage with a super reliable and helpful community of pre-medical students.

My future career aspirations is to hopefully work in the medical field as a psychiatrist. AMSA allows me to connect with a community of inspiring students through panels, workshops, and networking social events in which allows us to communicate and work hands on with each other. Through my time in AMSA, I have gained ample knowledge and wisdom from my fellow peers along with guest speakers and activities that fuels my passion for medicine and to want to continue to make a difference in my community and my world.

In the future, I currently hope to become a dermatologist or ENT surgeon but I am open to exploring other medical specialties that may pique my interest. AMSA has allowed me to expand my knowledge about what medicine has to offer and the necessary steps to becoming a future physician, particularly through interactive speaker panels and hands-on activities during meetings. From this, I have learned to step out of my comfort zone and venture out to meet motivated peers who share my interests.

I aspire to be a physician specializing in oncology or surgical oncology, however I am open to exploring other fields! ASMA has been a pillar of support for me since I joined freshman year, where it became an invaluable place to direct questions of what the path to medicine looks like. Through numerous opportunities to reach out to peers, listen to panelists with a wide range of experiences, and engage in workshops designed to provide exposure to different aspects of working in healthcare, AMSA broadened my view of what it takes to pursue this path and what resources are available to support me along the way. I hope AMSA at UCI continues to do this for other future premedical and prehealth students in the future, as it has done for me!

Being a part of AMSA has been an inspiring part of my journey toward becoming a doctor, even as I continue exploring which specialty aligns best with my passions. AMSA had given me a strong sense of community while providing opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, learn from medical professionals, and gain insight into the many paths within healthcare. Through these experiences, I’ve been able to grow both personally and professionally, building the confidence and skills I’ll carry into medical school and my future career.

Physician! AMSA provides many useful workshops, including MCAT, community service, and essay writing workshops. AMSA has given me the opportunity to engage with other pre-medical peers, which has helped me with class registration questions and navigating through the premedical journey at UCI.
